Tour starts and ends in Kigali
Day 1: Kigali Tour – Transfer to Volcanoes national park
Your tour begins early morning with pick up by our company tour guide. Begin your tour with a half day tour of Kigali city, a nice way to learn and get familiar with Rwanda. The tour will take you to visit the Gisozi genocide memorial site, local markets, later have lunch and drive to Volcanoes national park, Musanze province. Driving time to Volcanoes national park is 2 – 3 hours. Dinner and overnight at at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge, Muhabura Hotel (Basic)
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking – Transfer to Bwindi
Wake up early for a quick cup of coffee at your hotel and with a packed snuck from your hotel, drive to the Kinigi park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking do’s and don’ts. These are important rules set to protect the health of both visitors and mountain gorillas. You have a chance to decide to go for a hard, medium or simple trek depending on your physical ability. Trekking for gorilla in Rwanda usually last 2 – 7 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas.
A head guide will escort you into the forest plus an armed guard in search for your gorilla group. Once you meet the gorillas, you are allowed 1 hour with the gentle giants. After trekking descend back to the park head offices where you will meet you guide to drive you to your hotel for lunch.
After Lunch, drive off crossing into Uganda via the Cyanika border driving to Bwindi on a 4 hours drive reaching late evening in time for Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs Lodge (Luxury), Silverback Lodge(Midrange), Bihoma community bandas (Budget)
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking – Batwa pygmies visit
Your day begins with an early cup of coffee and your guide will drive you to the Bwindi park head quarters where all visitors going for gorilla trekking gather for briefing about conduct / behavior when you meet your gorilla family. Trekking for gorilla in Uganda usually last 2 – 7 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. A head guide will escort you into the forest plus an armed guard in search for your gorilla group. Day 4: Transfer to Rwanda – Departure
Have breakfast at your hotel and be ready to transfer back to Kigali – Rwanda on a 4 hours journey. If you missed city tour on day 1, have a grand tour of Kigali before drop off at either your hotel or airport.
